What are some good Nintendo DS games for a 7 year old boy?

I am trying to figure out some good games for a 7 year old boy to play on the DS. His Grandma got him one for Christmas and now he needs games to go along with it. I am lost on what to get and need some ideas. I want to be sure to get him some that he can understand and play with not much difficulty. Any ideas would be great.

Well, I have a little brother who is 8 and he loves pokemon but hes always asking my mom to read stuff to him, but if your son can read pretty well I recommend pokemon, or any super mario game, maybe some racing games.. you have to ask him what he likes

definatly pokemon games, i remember myself playing the old gameboy colours and gameboy advanced with pokemon for hours. And it does take a while to finish, and once you’ve done that there is still more to do so it will keep him entertained foreve…… until he’s about 13
