Luca’s Mom asked:
It’s raining out today and my dog has been cooped up all day and I want to know if anyone has a good game to play with a dog that enjoys mental stimulation as well as physical stimulation. Any ideas?

I would teach her some tricks.. it’s also fun to get some of it’s toys and put treats under it and hide them.. she will have to see which toy has the treat… soon she will be able to smell the treat when you release her.. and find it quicker.. this is always fun

Find a hallway or some open floor space and set-up a small jump. Toss the dog’s favorite toy over the jump and have it retrieve the toy. Then reward it with a treat, but make it sit perfectly still and place the treat on it’s nose. On your command, try to get it to flip the treat up in the air and catch in one motion. This will really teach your dog good voice command and agility I have found. GL!

Play hide the treats. Put a treat under a cup that has two others like it and see if she can sniff it out. Then as she gets better, you can move the cups around to different areas of the room. Once she’s learned that really well, start hiding just the treats, it gives them a way to do what dogs like to do, sniff!
