Breaking out of Coldridge Valley on a Warcraft Quest
This is some help for people starting out in World of Warcraft as a Dwarf in Coldridge Valley. If you’re like me, when you start a new role-playing-game, then you very soon just want to get out there, explore, and immerse yourself in the completely new world. The World of Warcraft is really exciting for first time players, and your first warcraft quest is really exhilarating, but after you’ve killed 10 wolves and fetched a few things for people, often your home-area isn’t enough and you want to travel some ground .
The problem is that Coldridge Valley where you start out is reasonably easy. The wolves and bears are low grade, and the quests and tasks aren’t that hard. But as soon as you move away from there into Dun Morogh and surrounding areas it gets dangerous, with creatures and quests becoming gradiently harder. The wolves and bears of Dun Morogh will kill your low-level character pretty fast, and if you venture down into the Wetlands region, it’s all but impossible to explore.
It takes time to advance up your character’s strengths and skills and make it into the higher levels. So what do you do if you want to have a good look around with your character without waiting to get it to a high enough level to come through the other regions ?
Here’s a good solution -
Travel to Ironforge – which is already really exciting when you’re a new venturer. But once you’re there, then there’s an underground tram that will take you safely, straight to Stormwind, the huge Human city below the mountains of Dun Morogh , North of Elwyn Forest. Then you can travel out into a completely new area of thick forests and different races, and it’s a low level area like the one you just left ( the one that human characters start out from ).
You will have to pass through Coldridge Pass to make it into the main area of Dun Morogh, so be prepared for a few battles. Do spend a bit of time upgrading your character a level or two and perhaps completing a warcraft quest or two to get a better weapon. But once you’re through the pass, it can be a fairly safe road to Ironforge.
I recommend, before leaving Coldridge; pick up a simple warcraft quest, like making a delivery to somewhere else in Dun Morogh. You may as well advance your character a bit while on route.
You’ll soon notice that if you stay on the main roads, you’re fairly safe, and the creatures off to the sides leave you alone, so except for the pass down from Coldridge, you can get yourself to Ironforge very easily – just follow the main road.
The Deeprun Tram is in Tinkertown, which is between the Military Ward and the Hall of Explorers. So after you’ve looked around Ironforge enough, take the tram to Stormwind.
